The Best BASEBALL and FAST PITCH INSTRUCTION in Northern Kentucky

Just because the season has started does not mean this is the time to forget about your strength and conditioning program.  Think about all the hard work you put in this off-season, you don't want to lose all those gains do you?  The effects of detraining can start as soon as 2 weeks, and these include decreased conditioning levels, loss of flexibility, and loss of peak strength.

Instead of ditching the workout program you have been on, adjust by decreasing your workload to account for practices and games.  This means controlling the volume by working out less days per week, with less overall sets and reps. Prioritize the exercises that are the important part of your game.  Make the most of your time.  Pitchers, recover from your outing by doing your shoulder work postgame and doing some conditioning the next day.  Position players, make good flexibility work part of not just your pregame, but postgame routine.  Everyone, continue to strength train by completing 2- 30 min. total body workouts a week.  Stick to a good routine and you will be the one feeling strong and healthy during the dog days...aka the salary drive...aka Championship Season!
