Toby Rumfield

Toby was drafted in 1991 by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2nd round out of Belton High School in Texas. From 1991-1997 Toby played in the Reds organization making it to AA for three of the six years with the organization. In 1998 Toby was signed by the Atlanta Braves as a free agent playing in Greenville, S.C. (AA) and Richmond, Va. (AAA) for three years. Toby was a catcher with the Atlanta Braves major league team in 1999 and 2000. In 2001 Toby signed with the Chicago White Sox and played the whole year in Charlotte, N.C. (AAA). In 2002 Toby went to camp with the Expos and was traded to the Florida Marlins during spring training. He spent half of the season with Calgary, Ont. (AAA) and was traded to the St Louis Cardinals to finish up the year with the Memphis, Tenn. Redbirds (AAA).

Toby signed in 2003 with the Fargo Red Hawks of the Northern League and won a championship with them. In 2004 I managed the San Angelo Colts of the Central League. In 2005 he was hired by the Kansas City Royals as their area supervisor. Toby is now the manager for the Frontier League River City Rascals and just finished up scouting for the New York Mets.
